Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong has returned from his business trip to France and Vietnam. After a busy 6 nights and 7 days, he said he was "tired" but left the arrival hall with a bright face.
Chairman Lee arrived at Seoul Gimpo Business Aviation Center (SGBAC) at around 7:05 p.m. on the 24th. He departed for France on the 18th, completed his schedule in Vietnam, and returned home after leaving Hanoi that morning.
Regarding his impressions of visiting France and Vietnam consecutively for 6 nights and 7 days, Chairman Lee said, "It was a meaningful schedule." When asked by reporters about the prospects of the Busan International Expo, he responded not with an answer but said, "I'm a bit tired." This implies that he was busy running around to attract the Expo.
Chairman Lee visited France along with business leaders such as SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won, Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Eui-sun, and LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo. They attended the 172nd General Assembly of the International Bureau of Expositions (BIE) held in Paris on the 20th and 21st, where they campaigned for the Busan Expo bid. He held a group meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron and also had individual business-related meetings.

He accompanied President Yoon Suk-yeol and other business leaders as part of the economic delegation during the President's state visit to Vietnam. Chairman Lee attended the state banquet held on the 23rd. At the state banquet, he received congratulations from President Yoon and Vietnamese State President Vo Van Thuong and his spouse on his 55th birthday that day. On the morning of the 24th, he visited the Samsung R&D Center in Hanoi with President Yoon.
This R&D center is Samsung Electronics' first large-scale comprehensive research institute established in Vietnam. Chairman Lee not only visited the construction site of this center in 2020 but also attended the completion ceremony held at the end of last year, showing special interest. Samsung Electronics plans to develop Vietnam as a global strategic hub that performs comprehensive R&D as well as global production bases.
Samsung Electronics MX Division Head (President) Roh Tae-moon accompanied Chairman Lee on this trip. President Roh returned with Chairman Lee. When asked by reporters about the Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled for this month, he replied, "We are preparing diligently."

The Sun Valley Conference is an event where prominent media and IT industry giants such as Meta, Google, Apple, and Microsoft (MS) gather. Chairman Lee has attended the conference annually since 2002 but has not participated since 2017.
