Son Kyung-sik, Chairman of the Korea Employers Federation, Meets Vietnamese President, Urges "Support for Korean Companies"
Son Kyung-sik, Chairman of the Korea Employers Federation, met with high-ranking officials in Hanoi, Vietnam, over two days starting on the 22nd (local time) to request support for Korean companies operating locally. They exchanged views on economic cooperation measures between the two countries.
On the second day, the 23rd, Chairman Son met with Vietnamese State President Vo Van Thuong. The Korea Employers Federation reported that they shared the opinion that economic cooperation should be further expanded, noting that last year marked the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries and their upgrade to a comprehensive strategic partnership.
Chairman Son said, "Vietnam is Korea's third-largest trading partner, with about 8,000 Korean companies currently operating there," adding, "We expect economic cooperation between the two countries to be further strengthened due to Vietnam's pro-business environment."
He continued, "We ask for special attention and support so that Korean companies can firmly support Korea-Vietnam economic cooperation," adding, "Based on economic cooperation between the two countries, there are many areas where Korea and Vietnam can collaborate more closely, such as new industries, new technologies, and supply chain stabilization."

During his visit to Vietnam, Chairman Son also met with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung to seek their interest and support for Korean companies.
