Martial Arts Gwangju-Jeonnam, Seminar on Responding to Sluggish Exports to China
The Korea International Trade Association Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Headquarters held a seminar on the 22nd at its office in collaboration with the FTA Comprehensive Support Center China Desk, covering policy changes in the Chinese market and certification, customs clearance, logistics, and strategic consulting by sector including intellectual property rights.
The seminar was conducted by inviting experts from various fields to respond to the recent sluggish exports to China and continued trade deficits, with about 40 trade industry officials attending.
Jinsil, team leader of the China Desk, introduced support projects for China and explained recent trends in utilizing China FTAs.
He stated, “In Chinese exports, the benefits vary depending on whether to utilize the Korea-China FTA or the recently enacted RCEP by product and industry,” and emphasized, “It is necessary to increase the utilization of FTAs by making use of various consulting services and briefings provided by the China Desk.”
Shin Seungwon, customs officer at the China Desk, advised, “It is essential to check the local tariff rates and concession types for export goods, and to utilize the certified exporter certification system, RCEP connected certificate of origin, and special criteria through professional consultation.”
