He emphasized, “To break the vicious cycle of concentration in the metropolitan area and local extinction, the ‘Special Act on Local Autonomy Decentralization and Regional Balanced Development’ was enacted on June 9, significantly expanding the discretion and authority of local governments, enabling them to take the lead in policy implementation and promote regional development.” He added, “Going forward, together with 228 mayors, county governors, and district heads nationwide, I will do my best to ensure that local voices are actively reflected in national policy-making processes.”
He also urged, “I ask for your interest and cooperation so that we can collectively consider our roles and attitudes to prevent local extinction for the local community and our children, and to establish a genuine local era.”
As a leading regional bank, DGB Daegu Bank is making efforts to support neighborhood commercial districts through differentiated collaboration with each autonomous district. Based on this, the bank plans to explore various measures for regional development and economic revitalization. Since 2021, it has been working together to promote and boost sales for local small business owners and self-employed individuals through initiatives such as the ‘Business Agreement for Revitalizing the Nam-gu Dining District’ and the YouTube contest ‘Hide and Seek with MukTube.’
