Ulsan Hoeyagang River Maintenance Project Compensation 'Smooth'... Ulsan City "Completion by Year-End, Construction Starts Next Year"
Ulsan City plans to complete the payment of compensation for land included in the 'Hoeyagang (Hoeyaji District) Local Stream Maintenance Project' by the end of this year and begin construction in 2024.
The 'Hoeyagang Local Stream Maintenance Project' aims to prevent floods and create an eco-friendly river environment by constructing and reinforcing embankments along an 8.08 km stretch of the stream. The total project cost is 40.7 billion KRW, with completion targeted by the end of 2025.
The land subject to compensation for this project amounts to 310 parcels covering 101,817㎡. Since 2020, Ulsan City has paid 10.6 billion KRW in compensation for 194 parcels totaling 72,150㎡.
For the remaining 116 parcels covering 29,667㎡ where compensation has not yet been completed, the compensation plan was announced in May, objections were received, and appraisal of compensation prices was conducted, completing the related administrative procedures.
Ulsan City plans to pay 2.6 billion KRW in compensation by the end of this year to complete the compensation for the included land and to start construction in 2024 to actively promote the project.

An official from Ulsan City stated, “We hope that the project can proceed smoothly through prompt compensation,” adding, “We will strive to protect lives and property safely from natural disasters such as heavy rain and typhoons by advancing the project quickly.”
