Gwangju Metropolitan City's first private garden, 'Hyusimjeong,' is attracting attention as it leads regional development by spreading and revitalizing a new garden culture in the area.
Since its designation as a private garden, it has welcomed an average of about 30,000 visitors per month over two months, establishing itself as a new landmark. At the same time, tours and meetings to benchmark the success of Hyusimjeong are ongoing.
According to Miraenongwon, which created Hyusimjeong, on the 19th, 20 village leaders from Gosan 2-ri, Jeju Island, and 2 members from the Korea Institute of Local Autonomy and Economy visited Hyusimjeong.
They visited to directly observe Hyusimjeong, a successful case of site development and garden creation, and to identify parts that can be applied to their projects to promote sustainable regional development.
The day included a lecture by Park Pil-soon, a Gwangju city council member, and Park Hwa-sil, CEO of Miraenongwon, followed by a time for communication among the participants.
Additionally, 14 instructors and students from the Welfare Gardening course at Chonnam National University Lifelong Education Center visited Hyusimjeong for a garden tour and held a meeting with Park Hwa-sil, CEO of Miraenongwon (Hyusimjeong).
