Changwon Coast Guard, First Water Rescue Qualification Exam of the Year ... Total 9 Candidates
7 Subjects at Changwon Indoor Swimming Pool on June 18
The first 2023 National Lifeguard Qualification Exam will be held on the 18th at the Changwon Indoor Swimming Pool in Gyeongnam.
According to the Changwon Coast Guard on the 15th, the lifeguard qualification is a national certification granted by the Commissioner of the Korea Coast Guard to individuals who possess professional skills to rescue people in distress on the water.
The lifeguard qualification exam is open to anyone regardless of gender or age who has completed a total of 64 hours of preliminary training, including 16 hours of theory and 48 hours of practice, at one of the 21 educational institutions designated by the Korea Coast Guard.
The national qualification exam for lifeguards is underway.

A total of 9 candidates, including 7 men and 2 women, took the first lifeguard qualification exam in the Changwon area this year.
They will take tests in seven subjects: swimming techniques, water rescue, equipment rescue, basic rescue, comprehensive rescue, first aid, and equipment operation skills. To pass, candidates must score an average of 60 points or higher and at least 40% in each subject.
The list of successful candidates can be checked within 5 days from the exam date, and detailed information related to the lifeguard qualification exam, including certificate issuance, can be found on the Water Safety Comprehensive Information site.
The second lifeguard qualification exam in the Changwon area will be held on July 16, and applications can be submitted from June 27 to July 11 through the Water Safety Comprehensive Information site.
