In June last year, Kakao Style introduced Hybrid 2.0, allowing employees to autonomously choose the place where they can improve work efficiency. This system was established to provide an environment where members can immerse themselves in their work and perform better. All members are free to work anywhere, such as at home, the office, or a cafe, according to their own work styles.
A survey conducted with 471 members on the first anniversary of the system’s implementation showed that over 94% of respondents gave positive feedback about the system. When asked whether they autonomously choose the place to work to improve their work efficiency, 57% answered 'strongly agree,' 37% 'agree,' and 5% 'neutral,' in that order.
The average number of days employees go to the office was highest at 'once a week' with 42%. The preferred days were 'Wednesday' and 'Thursday.' The main reason for going to the office was 'building camaraderie with colleagues,' at 60%, followed by 'conducting work that requires face-to-face interaction' and 'attending regular meetings.'
Regarding whether they collaborate smoothly with colleagues regardless of work location, 95% responded positively. Key reasons included the established 'ground rules' such as adhering to co-work hours and sharing work locations to stay connected, as well as the 'flexible zones' within the office divided according to the nature of the work.
Kakao Style also supports organizational culture activities to foster camaraderie among members. They recently launched the 'Play Shop,' which supports activities to improve teamwork. Each organization can freely choose programs that allow members to communicate and enhance mutual understanding outside of work, conducting them once per quarter.
