SK Group is opening its in-house education platform 'Sunny (mySUNI)' to universities and partner companies to foster future talent.
On the 12th, SK Group announced that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for 'Future Talent Development Cooperation' with three universities?Korea University, Yonsei University, and Hanyang University?at the Sunny Happiness Campus in Gran Seoul, Jongno-gu, Seoul. Sunny and the three universities agreed to mutually cooperate in developing and operating educational programs aimed at nurturing talent equipped with future capabilities necessary for the rapidly changing social environment.
First, based on the learning content owned by Sunny, they will jointly develop curricula to enhance competencies in digital skills, problem-solving, and social skills, and officially offer these as liberal arts courses starting from the second semester of this year. SK employees will directly participate as instructors and coaches in the educational process, vividly conveying rich experiences and cases from the corporate field to university students preparing to enter society. Sunny stated, “After reviewing student satisfaction and educational effectiveness, we plan to consider whether to expand cooperation to other universities in the future.”

First introduced as a pilot last year, SunnyC is a program where participating university students engage in future competency learning, project execution, and career mentoring with SK members. This year, a total of 200 students will be selected. Sunny plans to share over 200 future competency-related contents it owns with university students participating in talent development programs of affiliates such as SK Telecom’s ‘AI Curriculum’ and SK Hynix’s ‘Semiconductor Curriculum’, providing diverse learning opportunities.
From this year, Sunny will also provide knowledge assets that help secure competencies for sustainable growth to SK’s partner companies. Initially, related content on ESG management, leadership, and other topics that offer insights into future changes will be provided to about 500 CEOs and mid-level managers of partner companies. The target will be expanded to general employees of partner companies in the future, and specialized courses focused on practical job competencies will be established. Sunny will also participate in the operation of the ‘Win-Win Growth CEO Seminar’, a representative SK Group partner company cooperation program, sharing SK’s management knowledge and know-how.
Since 2017, following Chairman Chey Tae-won’s management philosophy emphasizing knowledge sharing, SK Group has opened some sessions of the ‘Icheon Forum’, held every August, to external stakeholders such as university students and partner company members. In January 2020, Chairman Chey established Sunny, stating that bold investment in talent is necessary to secure future business capabilities. At that time, he said, “To achieve sustainable growth in a rapidly changing management environment, it is essential to develop and accumulate the future capabilities of employees.”
