Dong-Eui University Professors Jeong Seong-wook and Kim Young-jo Selected for Busan Film Commission Production Support
Professor Jeong Seong-wook of the Department of Film Studies at Dong-Eui University and Professor Kim Young-jo of the Department of Digital Contents have each been selected as recipients of the 2023 production support projects by the Busan Film Commission for their upcoming directorial works.
Professor Jeong Seong-wook's work, Sugar Blues, was recently selected for the Busan Film Commission's "2023 Busan Production Company (Web) Drama Production Support Project" and will receive 70 million KRW in funding.
The project was also chosen as a specialized support work by Suyeong-gu, receiving an additional 50 million KRW from Suyeong-gu, with more than 30% of the entire filming scheduled to take place in Suyeong-gu.
Sugar Blues, directed by Professor Jeong Seong-wook, is a work that tells the story of the bakery alley commercial district in Namcheon-dong, Suyeong-gu, known as "Bbangcheon-dong," with desserts as its theme.
Professor Jeong said, "Film studies students, graduates, and talented film professionals from Busan are preparing for the shoot together," adding, "We will do our best to portray the local story of Bbangcheon-dong meaningfully and entertainingly."

Professor Kim's Mika and Jeongbin received praise from the judges, who commented, "This project shines with long-standing experience from planning to research, and we look forward to its unique style and approach to the keywords of disability and music, which have been addressed in various films and videos."
