Geumcheon-gu Operates Companion Animal Culture Class
Geumcheon-gu to Offer Pet Behavior Correction, Pet Etiquette Education, and Walking Training from June 22 to July 29
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it will operate the 2023 Pet Culture Class from June 22 to July 29.
The Pet Culture Class was established to prevent conflicts or related complaints between neighbors arising from the increasing number of households owning pets.
This course is divided into two parts to address the most common issues related to pets: noise complaints and complaints caused by failure to observe pet etiquette.
The education courses include ▲Behavior Correction and Pet Etiquette Education ▲Practical Walking Training with Dogs.
The ‘Behavior Correction and Pet Etiquette Education’ is a practice-oriented course where participants and their dogs learn together.
The class size is 10 people per group, with a total of 3 groups (30 people). Customized consultations and Q&A sessions related to pets are conducted based on cases submitted by participants.
The ‘Practical Walking Training with Dogs’ covers how to walk in urban areas, pet etiquette during walks, and basic commands such as “come” and “wait.” Since this is an outdoor experiential learning course, the class size is limited to 10 people per group, with a total of 3 groups (30 people) to ensure safety and effective training.
The training sessions will be held once a week at the Neulsolmoru Village Vitality Center in Siheung 2-dong and at the entrance of Hoamsan Dullegil Trail.
Applications for the course can be submitted from 9 a.m. on June 5 to 6 p.m. on June 19 via the Geumcheon-gu Office website or by visiting the Regional Economy Division at the district office to submit an application form. If the number of applicants exceeds the available spots, participants will be selected by random draw.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, stated, “We hope this Pet Culture Class will help resolve conflicts among residents caused by pets and contribute to creating a Geumcheon-gu where people and animals live together harmoniously.”
