Truck Collides on Shoulder of Jungbu Naeryuk Expressway and Catches Fire
Firefighters are extinguishing the fire of a truck that caught fire due to a collision on the shoulder.

At around 8:50 a.m. on the 1st, a 14-ton truck traveling in the second lane near the Yeongsan Interchange (IC) on the Jungbu Naeryuk Expressway in Changnyeong-gun, Gyeongnam, heading towards Changwon, collided with the roadside guardrail, causing a vehicle fire.
According to the Gyeongnam Fire Headquarters on the 2nd, the driver in his 50s was injured in the waist and was taken to the hospital. The truck was completely burned, and the cargo caught fire, resulting in an estimated property damage of about 36.4 million won, according to the fire department.
Eleven firefighting vehicles and 25 firefighters were dispatched to the scene.
The fire was extinguished within about 20 minutes, but due to fire suppression efforts, a 1 km section of the area was congested for about 30 minutes.
The driver was reported not to have been under the influence of alcohol.

The police are investigating the exact cause of the accident, suspecting driver inattention, and are questioning the driver and witnesses.
