Dongincheon Station North Plaza Drunkard Issue Troublesome... Incheon Dong-gu Considers Drastic Measures
Dong-gu, Incheon is taking drastic measures to address the issue of intoxicated individuals at the north plaza of Dongincheon Station.
According to the district on the 2nd, the north plaza of Dongincheon Station has long faced problems caused by habitual intoxicated persons, including drinking, smoking, incidents and accidents, and public urination, leading to continuous complaints from nearby merchants, residents, and visitors.
Accordingly, the district plans to form a 'Civil-Government-Police Joint Task Force (TF)' involving local residents, police, and external experts to develop a comprehensive plan for improving the north plaza environment.
District Mayor Kim Chan-jin will serve as the head of the TF, and since the police’s role and assistance are absolutely necessary to resolve the north plaza issues, a cooperative system will be established with the Jungbu Police Station to respond strongly.

After gathering residents’ opinions, the district plans to complete the designation process of the no-drinking and no-smoking zone by July, and from next year, will implement strict enforcement along with imposing fines.
