The Ministry of the Interior and Safety stated that the alert issued by the Seoul Metropolitan Government was a "false alarm."
On the 31st at 7:03 a.m., the Ministry announced, "The alert issued by the Seoul Metropolitan Government is a false alarm."
Earlier, at 6:41 a.m., Seoul sent an emergency disaster message stating, "At 6:32 a.m. today, an alert was issued for the Seoul area. Citizens are advised to prepare for evacuation, and please ensure that children and the elderly are given priority to evacuate."
This alert appears to have been triggered by North Korea launching a space launch vehicle in a southern direction.
