Marine Corps Catches Robber... "Thief!" Shouts Lead to Alleyway Chase
On the evening of the 27th, two men who were about to have dinner at Jungang Market in Jinhae-gu, Changwon-si, Gyeongnam, heard a scream mixed with cries near their ears.
It was a desperate shout of "Thief!"
Sergeant Park Geon-woo and Corporal Kim Bo-gyeom, belonging to the King Kong Brigade of the 1st Marine Division, who were performing rapid response unit duties in Jinhae, immediately looked around upon hearing the sound.
Realizing it was a theft incident, the two non-commissioned officers hurriedly chased after the fleeing suspect.
Sergeant Park chased the suspect through the market alleys, while Corporal Kim called 112 and ran across another path to block the escape route.
After a chase of about 300 meters, the thief, having lost the way to escape, resisted with all his might but was eventually caught in the act and handed over to the police.

According to the Jinhae Police Station, the suspect, a man in his 20s identified as A, entered a jewelry store pretending to be a customer around 6:15 p.m. that day, wore two gold bracelets worth about 15 million won, and fled while the owner in his 60s was inattentive.
A admitted to the charges during the police investigation, and the police plan to apply for an arrest warrant for him.
The store owner, Mr. B, said, "I was extremely shocked, but I am very grateful and thankful that the soldiers responded quickly," adding, "They are truly excellent young men."
Sergeant Park, who sustained minor bruises during the arrest, said, "I only thought about catching him," and added, "I did what was natural as a Marine."
