Gyeonggi-do Operates Marine Leisure Sports Education Program
Gyeonggi Province is operating a marine leisure sports education program.
Gyeonggi Province announced on the 28th that, to expand and revitalize the marine leisure culture, it will conduct the 'Marine Leisure Sports Education Program' from this month until November at major marine areas within the province, including Gimpo Aramarina, Ansan Tando Port, Siheung Wave Park and Sihwa Lake, and Hwaseong Jeongok Marina Port.
This program is divided into general experience courses and professional certification courses. The experience education courses consist of 10 programs, including ▲marine leisure safety experience education ▲equipment experience such as kayaking ▲surfing and diving experiences. The professional education courses include 4 programs: ▲yacht and boat license acquisition education ▲advanced leisure vessel operation skills education ▲advanced yacht sailing education.
Any resident of Gyeonggi Province can participate on a first-come, first-served basis. The general experience programs are free of charge, and 50% of the tuition fee is supported for professional education such as license acquisition courses.
Kim Seong-gon, head of the Marine Fisheries Division of the province, said, "As the number of residents wishing to engage in marine leisure activities increases, we plan to continuously provide opportunities for everyone to enjoy safely and easily," adding, "We will develop and promote more diverse programs."
