Yangcheon-gu (District Mayor Lee Gijae) announced that it is piloting the ‘Seoul Mom Dad Taxi (Yangcheon Ai Sarang Taxi)’ project, which provides 100,000 KRW taxi vouchers to ensure comfortable mobility and reduce childcare burdens for families raising infants.
The ‘Seoul Mom Dad Taxi (Yangcheon Ai Sarang Taxi),’ promoted as a Seoul city pilot project, supports the use of large taxis exclusively for infants, equipped with convenience facilities such as car seats, tablet PCs, and droplet shields. It is also a flagship pledge project of Lee Gijae, Yangcheon District Mayor, aimed at making Yangcheon a city where children and women can live well.
This year, the project is being implemented in 16 autonomous districts of Seoul, including Yangcheon-gu.
The support target is families raising infants aged 24 months or younger who are registered residents of Yangcheon-gu. Each infant is granted 100,000 KRW worth of taxi usage points annually. Not only parents but also actual caregivers such as (grand)parents and relatives within the third degree of kinship living at the same address can apply through the operating company’s ‘i.M (I.M)’ taxi mobile app.
Required documents include a resident registration certificate issued within one month showing both the caregiver and infant registered together, with the resident registration number’s back digits excluded.
Applications for the service are currently open and may close early if the budget is exhausted. Taxi vouchers are issued immediately in the form of points upon approval by the district office after application. The points must be used by December 17, after which any remaining points will automatically expire. Families raising newborns under six months must reserve a dedicated car seat 24 hours in advance.

Lee Gijae, Yangcheon District Mayor, said, “Since even a single outing can feel like a big burden for families raising infants who have a lot to prepare, we operate the ‘Seoul Mom Dad Taxi (Yangcheon Ai Sarang Taxi)’ so that you can travel comfortably and safely anywhere with your child.” He added, “We will continue to do our best to discover customized policies reflecting diverse needs so that Yangcheon-gu can become a city friendly to birth and childcare.”
