The farm located in Sunji-ri, Jangheung-eup consists of three greenhouses (1,550㎡) equipped with smart farm facilities such as nutrient solution control systems, integrated environmental control systems, video equipment, automatic openers, heating facilities, and sensors.
The facilities are designed to be suitable for cultivating horticultural crops such as flowers and vegetables.
Until recently, two young farmers have completed their practice, and currently, two tenants are conducting management practice in cultivating flowers (mini delphinium, poppy, etc.) and fruit vegetables (eggplant).
During the rental period, tenants directly carry out all farming processes including farming plans, cultivation, production, and sales, gaining practical farming experience.
To reduce failures when starting farming businesses in the future, the Agricultural Technology Center also supports cultivation education, consulting, on-site technical guidance, and smart farm maintenance.
Moon Jeong-hwa (32), who practiced at this rental farm since 2020, stated, “By applying experience in cultivating mid- and low-temperature niche flowers and smart farm utilization technology to the agricultural field, I am currently successfully cultivating carnations and ranunculus in two greenhouses (0.25 hectares) in Jangpyeong-myeon.”
