Gwangjin Rose Garden 30,000 Fully Bloomed Rose Bushes... Photo Zones Created Throughout
Benches Provided for Taking a Break and Having Conversations
Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) has planted 30,000 colorful four-season roses in the ‘Gwangjin Rose Garden’ to welcome residents and allow them to fully enjoy healing through the beauty of nature.
The ‘Gwangjin Rose Garden,’ created over two years since 2021, is located in Junggok 3-dong 503-20, a riverside area along the Jungnangcheon Stream, covering an area of 5,800㎡ and a length of 256m.
The rose garden is decorated with ▲30,631 four-season rose bushes of 30 varieties ▲12,700 boxwood bushes ▲golden euonymus ▲tricolor spirea, making it a healing spot that people want to visit every season.
This time, themed around Gwangjin as a waterfront city, colorful four-season roses in full bloom were planted around a curved walking path shaped like a waterway to fill visitors’ hearts with the fragrance of flowers.
Photo zones were also set up throughout the garden so visitors can capture happy moments with the flowers. Installations such as a boat and rose logo sculpture symbolizing Gwangjin’s ferry dock, a rotunda (a building with a circular or oval floor plan, usually with a dome), and trellises (lattice structures for climbing vines) have been installed, making it a popular spot for taking memorable photos.
A resident taking pictures with the colorful roses said, “It’s refreshing and makes me happy to be able to take a walk nearby and see the fully bloomed beautiful roses. I also enjoy taking pictures of the blooming roses and sharing them with my friends to show off.”
Additionally, benches were installed on the boat sculpture’s seating wall and under the shade of elm trees so visitors can enjoy the roses and have quiet conversations with their companions.
