'K-Medical' Education Expands Globally... Bosanjin Operates Online Training Program
The Korea Health Industry Development Institute announced on the 24th that it is recruiting trainees for the 2023 session of the 'Medical Korea Academy e-class (MKA e-class),' an online medical training course for overseas healthcare professionals aimed at promoting the excellence of Korean medical care worldwide and expanding international health and medical networks.
Since 2007, the institute has operated the MKA invitation training program, transferring Korean medical technology to 703 overseas medical professionals from 32 countries. In 2020, faced with the global health crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the training program was fully converted into the 'MKA e-class online training course,' presenting a new paradigm.
Through this, from 2020 to last year, a total of 486 overseas healthcare professionals from 45 countries participated in the MKA e-class. The institute continues to focus on spreading the excellence of Korean medical technology and is building a foundation for the overseas expansion of Korean medical services and the activation of attracting foreign patients. Overseas healthcare professionals taking the MKA e-class program can access a total of 13 educational courses covering both clinical education in internal and external medicine and non-clinical education in a flexible and efficient manner through an online platform without having to visit Korea directly.
This year, the MKA e-class will be held twice, in July-August and October-November. Trainees will be recruited in June and September for each session. The training targets include overseas medical personnel such as doctors, nurses, and medical students, as well as hospital administration and medical information system personnel, and health ministry officials. Domestic healthcare professionals who wish to participate can also join.
The training subjects in surgical techniques include eight courses: ▲Hepatobiliary and pancreatic (basic and advanced), ▲Gastrointestinal (basic and advanced), ▲Colorectal (basic and advanced), ▲Breast and thyroid, and ▲Trauma critical care medicine. Internal medicine techniques include three courses: ▲Infection control, ▲Cardiac ultrasound techniques, and ▲Endoscopic techniques. In non-clinical fields, two courses are offered: ▲Medical ICT and ▲Hospital management.
Applications can be made by signing up on the online training education management system, filling out the registration form, and selecting the desired course. There is no separate tuition fee.
