Gyeonggi-do Disabled Oral Care Center Opens at Myeongji Hospital on the 23rd
Gyeonggi Province opened the Northern Disabled Oral Care Center at Myongji Hospital in Goyang City on the 23rd.
In 2020, Gyeonggi Province designated Myongji Hospital as the Gyeonggi Northern Disabled Oral Care Center and completed the expansion of one floor with a total area of 773.76㎡ on the 7th floor of Myongji Hospital in March of this year.
Earlier, in 2012, Gyeonggi Province designated Dankook University Jukjeon Dental Hospital (Yongin) as the Gyeonggi Regional Disabled Oral Care Center.
The main facilities of the Disabled Oral Care Center include a dental treatment room for disabled patients, a general anesthesia treatment room, an oral health education room, and a separate waiting room for disabled patients. It is equipped with dedicated oral care staff and the latest treatment equipment.
The center serves as a place for dental treatment services for disabled individuals who have difficulty with behavioral control, providing advanced treatments such as general anesthesia for severely disabled patients, and acting as a regional hub for disabled oral care by linking with regional centers, public health centers, and dental clinics.
Oh Byeong-kwon, the first deputy governor of Gyeonggi Province, emphasized, "With the opening of the Disabled Oral Care Center, we expect an improvement in the quality of life through expanded oral care opportunities for disabled people in the northern Gyeonggi area and nearby regions," and added, "The province will support the stable operation of the center."
