Gurye-gun Conducts On-Site Inspections to Prepare for Summer Natural Disasters

Checking Disaster-Prone Areas for Disaster Prevention and Response Systems

Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that on May 22 and 23, it conducted on-site inspections of disaster-prone areas within the jurisdiction to prepare for natural disasters during the summer season.

This inspection was carried out to prepare for summer natural disasters such as heavy rain and typhoons, and to check the disaster prevention and response system.

The inspection team, led by Deputy County Governor Yoo Young-gwang, conducted on-site inspections of disaster-prone areas such as riversides, landslide risk zones, steep slopes, and bridges, urging officials to thoroughly prepare for disaster prevention and safety management.

They also visited disaster prevention project sites including the Gurye District Unit Comprehensive Restoration Project, Gurye Water Intake Facility and Seomjingang Water Purification Plant Disaster Restoration Project, and tributary and small stream maintenance projects, listened to on-site explanations, and requested thorough management to ensure no damage occurs during the summer rainy season along with worker safety management.

Deputy County Governor Yoo Young-gwang stated, “As natural disasters frequently occur during the summer season, thorough preparation is necessary,” adding, “We will strengthen preemptive inspections of disaster-prone areas and actively promote disaster preparedness guidelines to residents to minimize casualties and property damage.”
