Dongmyeong University Hosts Unique Companion Animal Festival
At Jinyeong Complex Rest Area on the 29th
Busan Dongmyung University, the only university in Korea with a dedicated College of Companion Animals, will hold a unique companion animal festival at Jinyeong Service Area on the 29th.
This event is part of an animal love campaign aimed at protecting abandoned dogs and preventing animal abuse. On that day, from 2 PM to 6 PM at Jinyeong Service Area (towards Changwon-Busan), Dongmyung University will hold ▲a Taekwondo demonstration by enrolled students ▲companion dog training demonstrations ▲free grooming and health check-ups for companion dogs, and provide snacks and souvenirs.
Jo Jae-hyung, head of the Companion Animal Education and Culture Center at Dongmyung University, said, “Leveraging the strength of operating the only dedicated College of Companion Animals in Korea, we are also preparing a companion dog cultural festival event for the second semester.”

In the 2024 academic year, Dongmyung University plans to establish new departments under the College of Companion Animals, including ▲Department of Companion Animal Health ▲Department of Pet Grooming and Behavior Correction ▲Department of Companion Animal Industry (with majors in Pet Food and Companion Animal Industry Design).
