Sharp Increase in Women's Fashion Swimsuit Sales Over the Past 2 Weeks
Bold Prints and Monokinis Gain Popularity
As the peak vacation season approaches, sales of women's swimsuits are increasing significantly.
Musinsa announced on the 23rd that an analysis of Musinsa Store's product transaction amounts over the past two weeks (May 8?21) showed that the transaction amount in the women's fashion swimsuit category doubled compared to the previous two-week period (April 24?May 7).
Fashion swimsuits include women's swimsuits primarily worn outdoors at beaches, water parks, and outdoor swimming pools. Among all swimsuit categories, sales of women's swimsuits stood out particularly. During the same period, overall swimsuit sales, including men's tops and bottoms and rash guards, increased by about 47%.
This summer, the trend in women's fashion swimsuits is led by monokinis featuring bold prints and vibrant patterns. A monokini is a swimsuit design where the top and bottom are connected as one piece, covering the abdomen. Among these, monokinis highlighted with large illustrations or realistic photos have gained popularity, driving the increase in fashion swimsuit transaction amounts. As demand for swimsuits rises recently, clothing brands that previously focused on everyday wear are increasingly launching new swimsuit lines. In particular, monokinis released by clothing brands that have gained high popularity among young female customers are receiving attention.
