Iran "Clashes with Armed Group at Pakistan Border... 6 Dead"
Clashes between military authorities and armed groups in the southern border region of Iran have resulted in the deaths of six people, according to the state-run IRNA news agency on the 21st (local time).
The agency reported that the night before, a violent confrontation occurred between security forces and an armed group in the village of Saravan, located in the eastern part of Sistan-va-Baluchestan Province near the Pakistan border.
Iran reported that six security personnel were killed and two were injured in the clashes.
Iran did not disclose which armed group was involved in the confrontation.
Tanks belonging to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Ground Forces are conducting training in the Aras region of East Azerbaijan Province, northwestern Iran, on October 19 last year (local time).

However, military authorities explained that "a terrorist organization was detected while attempting to cross the border, leading to the clash, and after the firefight, they fled toward Pakistan."
The Sistan-va-Baluchestan region, bordering Pakistan and Afghanistan, is one of the underdeveloped areas in Iran.
This region is home to the Sunni Muslim minority and the Baluchi ethnic group within Iran.
Additionally, frequent clashes occur in this area between drug trafficking organizations, Sunni extremist armed groups, and the Iranian military.
