EXCO Discusses Cooperation Plans with Middle East's Largest 'Dubai World Trade Centre'

'EXCO-Dubai Cooperation for Mutual Growth'
EXCO has embarked on establishing a cooperative relationship with Dubai, the largest trade hub in the East and West, to leap forward as a global exhibition and convention center.
On the 18th, EXCO CEO Lee Sang-gil visited the Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC), the largest MICE complex center in the Middle East, to discuss mutual cooperation plans, including hosting new international exhibitions in Dubai.
This cooperation initiative by EXCO was promoted to revitalize the MICE industry and explore co-growth strategies by strengthening cooperation with Dubai, a city that hosted the World Expo?the world's three mega events along with the World Cup and Olympics?for the first time in the Middle East and is emerging as a MICE industry hub, aiming to leap forward as a global exhibition and convention center.

View original imageDuring his visit to DWTC, EXCO CEO Lee Sang-gil met with Mahir Julfar, Vice President and Head of Exhibitions at DWTC, to strengthen mutual cooperation through exchanges and dispatches of trade delegations and investor advisory groups fostering innovative companies recommended by both organizations for the development of the MICE industries in Daegu and Dubai, exchanges of exhibition venues and buyers, enhanced promotion of exhibitions to internationalize the main exhibitions hosted by both organizations, launching new exhibitions, and holding new business events.
Established in 1979, DWTC is the largest MICE complex center in the United Arab Emirates, consisting of 21 exhibition halls and 400 conference rooms with a total area of 127,730 square meters, hosting 500 exhibitions annually and attracting over 3 million visitors worldwide.
This year, DWTC is set to host major exhibitions such as ‘GITEX Global,’ the largest ICT exhibition in the Middle East; ‘WETEX,’ the largest exhibition in the Middle East for water, energy, technology, and environment sectors; and the ‘Global EV Show,’ a sustainable mobility exhibition aligned with the global carbon neutrality agenda.
Through exchanges with DWTC, which successfully hosts global exhibitions, EXCO plans to strengthen the international competitiveness of its flagship exhibitions, including the ‘International Green Energy Expo,’ ‘Daegu International Future Mobility Expo,’ and ‘ICT Convergence Expo,’ and has agreed to jointly host new exhibitions with DWTC in the future.
Following the visit to DWTC, EXCO also visited the headquarters of NAFFCO (National Fire Fighting Manufacturing Company), the largest firefighting equipment manufacturer in the Middle East, along with officials from the National Fire Agency, Fire Industry Technology Institute, and Fire Industry Association.
At this meeting, EXCO CEO Lee Sang-gil and Khalid Al Katib, President of NAFFCO headquarters, discussed cooperation plans to enhance the international competitiveness of the ‘International Fire Safety Expo,’ EXCO’s flagship exhibition and the largest and only fire safety expo in Korea.
Founded in 1991, NAFFCO is the largest firefighting manufacturer in the Middle East, exporting fire, safety, and security equipment to over 100 countries worldwide. NAFFCO has confirmed participation with a large exhibition booth at the International Fire Safety Expo to be held at Daegu EXCO on August 30. During the expo, NAFFCO will dispatch a purchasing team of about 10 members by product category to hold one-on-one purchasing consultations with domestic firefighting equipment companies.
NAFFCO also promised to support Korean firefighting companies’ entry into the Middle Eastern market through its global network. In response, officials from the National Fire Agency, Fire Industry Technology Institute, and Fire Industry Association expressed their commitment to actively cooperate in NAFFCO’s entry into the domestic market and the future development of the firefighting industry.

EXCO CEO Lee Sang-gil stated, “Starting with this visit, EXCO will solidify its cooperative relationship with DWTC and strive to achieve results within the year to leap forward as a global exhibition and convention center.” He added, “Through continuous cooperation with NAFFCO, we will also contribute to strengthening the international competitiveness of the Fire Safety Expo.”
