Department of Industrial Management Engineering at Kyungsung University Wins Grand Prize at National College Student Project Competition
A student research team from the Department of Industrial Management Engineering at Kyungsung University received the Grand Prize at the ‘2023 Korea Industrial Management Systems Society Spring Conference & the 21st University Student Project Competition’.
The competition was held over two days, from the 12th to the 13th, at Hanyang University Seoul Campus Hanyang Institute of Technology (HIT), sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Korea Management Certification Institute, Army Headquarters Analysis and Evaluation Group, and the Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies.
The competition focused on major topics in industrial engineering and industrial management engineering, with a total of 50 teams nationwide applying. After the first round of judging, the final 15 teams advanced to the finals to compete.

The strategy involves delivery companies with low market share collaborating to reduce last-mile delivery costs, applying an optimization/simulation iterative method to design an optimal delivery network even in dynamic situations with demand fluctuations.
The Department of Industrial Management Engineering at Kyungsung University conducts a capstone design program supported by the university’s LINC 3.0 project group, with most senior students forming research teams.

The research teams carry out projects applying the industrial management engineering knowledge they have learned during their studies to real-world problems, and the awarded team is also a result of this program.
