Sunchang-gun to Hold Barefoot Walking Event at Gangcheonsan on the 20th

On the 18th, Sunchang-gun, Jeonbuk announced that it will hold the ‘Gancheonsan Barefoot Walking’ event on the 20th at Gancheonsan County Park, which boasts a pristine natural environment, where visitors can enjoy a walk feeling the healing breeze of the green forest.

The highlight of tourism in Sunchang is undoubtedly Gancheonsan, known as the "Salt Mountain of Honam" for its pristine natural environment, famous for its cool valleys and beautiful mountain terrain.

Sunchang-gun will hold the "Gangcheonsan Barefoot Walking" event on the 20th at Gangcheonsan County Park, where participants can enjoy a walk feeling the healing breeze of the green forest.

This event, held in the beautiful Gancheonsan with various programs, aims to provide healing for the body and mind that have been contracted due to COVID-19, and to widely promote Gancheonsan County Park, a representative tourist destination of Jeollabuk-do, to revitalize the stagnant experiential tourism.

The main event, the barefoot walking experience, is a popular program where participants walk barefoot along the course from the entrance of Gancheonsan to Gancheonsa Temple, Hyunsugyo Bridge, and Gujanggun Waterfall, enjoying the beautiful scenery of Gancheonsan while taking care of their health.

Additionally, various programs such as fan making, key ring making, and calligraphy will be held as experiential activities for youth and children, along with busking performances including Nanta drumming, dance, and singing.

Moreover, from the 20th to the 21st, a two-day forest rope play experience event (including sky bridge, Burma bridge, and rope climbing wall experiences) will be held free of charge around Georashibawi, the midpoint of the walking trail.

Through this, the county expects to strengthen Sunchang-gun’s position as a family-oriented and experiential tourist destination.

County Governor Choi Young-il said, “Taking the barefoot walking event held at Gancheonsan, the Salt Mountain of Honam, as an opportunity, we will create an experiential tourist destination that attracts many tourists back to Sunchang,” and added, “I hope many visitors participating in this program will have a healing time breathing in the fresh air.”
