Samsung C&T Accelerates Australian Green Hydrogen Development Project with Japanese Energy Company DGA
Samsung C&T Corporation's Construction Division is expanding its green hydrogen business, which is gaining attention as an eco-friendly energy source in Australia.
Samsung C&T announced on the 18th that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the 17th with DGA, a global energy specialist company and a subsidiary of Japan's Mitsubishi Corporation, for the joint development and operation of a green hydrogen and ammonia project in Australia.
Through this agreement, the two companies plan to develop renewable energy complexes such as solar and wind power in the Western Australia region and establish green hydrogen production facilities linked to these complexes. They will also convert the green hydrogen produced in Western Australia into ammonia and supply it to markets in Korea, Japan, and others, continuing global cooperation.
Samsung C&T aims to establish a foothold that allows participation in all stages of the value chain?from development to construction, production, and supply?in the green hydrogen business, thereby positioning itself as a leader in the Australian market. In particular, Australia is evaluated as an optimal environment for large-scale green hydrogen and ammonia projects due to its vast territory and abundant renewable energy resources.
