Daejeon City Collects Public Opinions on 'Paternity Leave'
Daejeon City announced on the 17th that it will collect citizens' opinions on the theme of ‘What policies and support are needed for paternity leave?’ on the Daejeon Siso platform until the 26th of next month.
Last year, the proportion of men among paternity leave takers in the Daejeon area was 22.6%, which was lower than the national average of 28.9%.
Accordingly, Daejeon City explained that it has prepared a public forum on the Daejeon Siso platform to gather citizens' policy proposals before establishing support policies for paternity leave.
The opinion collection is conducted on the Daejeon Siso website, and any Daejeon citizen can participate and freely express their opinions.

Lee Seong-gyu, Director of the Administrative Autonomy Bureau of Daejeon City, said, “Even difficult and complex social issues can be solved when citizens put their heads together,” and added, “We ask for various proposals regarding the ‘expansion of paternity leave’ to create a city where parents and children can be happy together.”
