Kim Jaewon "I Have Never Considered Injunction Lawsuit Against Disciplinary Action"
Kim Jae-won, a Supreme Council member of the People Power Party who was suspended from party membership for one year due to remarks related to the May 18 incident and Pastor Jeon Gwang-hoon, stated that he is "not considering a provisional injunction lawsuit" and will take "time for preparation and exploration."
On the 16th, Kim said through his social media (SNS), "Currently, I am taking time to compose myself and engage in various preparations and explorations. I have not even considered filing a rehearing request or a provisional injunction lawsuit against the one-year suspension of my party membership."
His remarks are understood to be in response to ongoing speculation about a possible appeal against the disciplinary action. In particular, during a talk show held on the 14th in Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province, he mentioned that he "cannot give up the position of Supreme Council member," which led to speculation that he might be resisting the disciplinary action.
On the morning of the same day, Kim also posted on SNS, "On the afternoon of the 14th, near Ilsan Lake Park in Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province, I attended a talk show titled 'The People Ask. Kim Jae-won Answers' at the request of those who were very concerned about my disciplinary process," adding, "I explained that I could not give up the position of Supreme Council member despite accepting the one-year suspension of my party membership to honor the will of the party members who elected me first."
