Support for Implantable Chip Animal Registration Fees to Increase Pet Registration Rate and Prevent Abandoned and Lost Animals
Up to 40,000 KRW per animal, support for up to 2 animals per household
Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Seongheon) announced on the 16th that it will implement the "Implantable Animal Registration Fee Support Project" as part of realizing "100% Happiness with Animals in Seodaemun."
This is to increase the pet registration rate and prevent the occurrence of abandoned and lost animals. Residents who register their animals with implantable chips at animal hospitals in the area will receive support of up to 40,000 KRW per animal, for up to 2 animals per household.
Residents who wish to apply can visit animal hospitals located in Seodaemun-gu (24 animal registration agencies) by November 30th of this year to apply.
The animals subject to registration under the Enforcement Decree of the Animal Protection Act refer to "dogs over 2 months old," but support is also provided equally for companion cats.
Support is also available when changing from an existing external identification device to an implantable chip.
Lee Seongheon, Mayor of Seodaemun-gu, said, "We ask you to register your animals so that you do not lose your precious family pets."
