Ha Tae-kyung "Politely Apologizes to Hong Jun-pyo for Calling Him a 'Palpuni'"
Ha Tae-kyung, a member of the People Power Party, apologized after calling Hong Joon-pyo, the mayor of Daegu, a "palpuni" on a radio program.
On the 16th, Ha apologized through his social media, saying, "I apologize for the excessive expression towards Mayor Hong. During this morning's radio interview, I criticized Mayor Hong's recent remarks and used the excessive expression that he seemed like a palpuni."
He said, "Regardless of the reason, it is my responsibility. I sincerely apologize to Mayor Hong."
On the same morning, on MBC's "Kim Jong-bae's Focus," Ha pointed out that Mayor Hong met with Lee Jae-myung, the leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, and criticized the party and the presidential office, saying, "There is no problem with meeting, but why do you go around badmouthing your own house after meeting? Like a palpuni." When the host questioned, "Isn't calling him a palpuni too excessive?" Ha replied, "It means lacking. It is a politically lacking act. He deserves the criticism."
