Joint Anti-Terrorism Drill Conducted by Civil, Police, Military, and Fire Departments
On the afternoon of the 12th, the Changwon Convention Center (CECO) in Gyeongnam was bustling with police officers, soldiers, and firefighters.
The Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency announced that it conducted the 2023 Joint Anti-Terrorism Drill with related agencies on that day.
The police special forces are moving to conduct a terrorist suspect encirclement drill.

According to the provincial police agency, the drill involved the provincial police special forces, Changwon Jungbu Police Station, the Army's 39th Infantry Division Military Special Unit, the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Battalion, Gyeongnam Fire Headquarters 119 Special Rescue Team, Changwon Fire Headquarters, and the National Intelligence Service Gyeongnam Branch.
Alongside Changwon CECO, this joint civil-police-military-firefighting drill included realistic exercises covering chemical and biological attacks, explosive terrorism causing mass casualties, hostage terrorism, and the increasingly frequent use of drones in terrorist attacks.

A representative of the provincial police agency stated, “Considering the regional characteristics with numerous defense industry companies and nationally important facilities, we will continuously conduct drills with related agencies and do our best to make Gyeongnam safe from terrorism for its residents.”
