20s Male Arrested on Charges of Detaining and Assaulting Woman in Car
A man in his 20s accused of assaulting a woman while confining her in a car was arrested by the police.
According to Changwon Jungbu Police Station in Gyeongnam on the 12th, man A allegedly assaulted woman B, also in her 20s, by hitting her cheek during a heated argument while driving her in a car around 9:35 PM on the 11th.
He is also accused of confinement by continuing to drive the car despite B's demands to get out.
A was apprehended around 10:08 PM that night in Ungnam-dong, Seongsan-gu, Changwon City, following a report from B's smartwatch.
It was confirmed that B was registered as a safety protection subject at another police station.
Both sustained abrasions, and it is reported that their statements to the police differ regarding whether they were in a romantic relationship and the details of the incident.
