Seoul Metro and Geumcheon Cultural Foundation (CEO Oh Jin-yi) signed a business agreement on the 11th to promote the development and revitalization of culture and arts in the southwestern Seoul area.
Under this agreement, the two organizations will work together to develop and revitalize culture and arts in the Geumcheon area. In particular, they will join forces to promote and support cultural and arts events centered on the art yard established at Gasan Digital Complex Station.
Gasan Digital Complex Station is a station with a large floating population of IT industry workers and clothing shopping mall visitors nearby. Over the past year, nearly 42 million passengers have used Gasan Digital Complex Station.
The Geumcheon Cultural Foundation plans to present planned performances at the art yard inside Gasan Digital Complex Station until the end of the year. They will also hold busking events by local artists from time to time to comfort the hearts of office workers tired from their work life. Seoul Metro will cooperate by providing the art yard space at Gasan Digital Complex Station and create various cultural events within the station area.
Kim Jeong-hwan, Head of Public Relations at Seoul Metro, said, “We are pleased to contribute to the development of cultural and arts projects in the Geumcheon area of Seoul through this business agreement,” adding, “We will continue to create a Seoul subway where culture and arts coexist, offering citizens a more special daily life.”
