HiteJinro Launches Four Varieties of Italian Wine 'Madonna Nera'
Luxury Sangiovese Producing Boutique Winery
HiteJinro announced on the 12th that it will launch four types of wine from ‘Madonna Nera,’ created with the participation of Carlo Ferrini, a master of Tuscan wine making.
‘Madonna Nera’ is a boutique winery located in the northern part of the Montalcino region in Italy, owning a 6-hectare (about 20,000 pyeong) vineyard. It produces limited quantities of fresh and acidic wines using the Sangiovese grape variety. Carlo Ferrini is a legendary figure who has been selected three times as ‘Winemaker of the Year’ by Italian wine evaluation institutions such as ‘Gambero Rosso.’ He is currently working as a consultant for famous wineries including ‘Mattei.’
‘Madonna Nera Brunello di Montalcino Riserva’ is a wine produced in a maximum of 1,500 bottles per year. It undergoes a 42-month aging period in French oak barrels, offering complex flavors such as fig and chocolate. It has been recognized for its quality with a score of 96 from world-renowned wine critic James Suckling and 92 from wine critic Robert Parker.
‘Madonna Nera Brunello di Montalcino’ is characterized by complex aromas of cherry and espresso, with an annual production of only 15,000 bottles. ‘Madonna Nera Rosso di Montalcino’ is a 100% Sangiovese wine with strong berry flavors and a blend of pepper aroma, creating complexity, with acidity that fills the mouth and soft tannins leaving a long finish. ‘Madonna Nera Toscana IGT’ is a blend of 60% Sangiovese, 30% Merlot, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, harmonizing fruity and herbal aromas.
