Gwangyang City Holds Public Hearing on '2040 Urban Master Plan (Draft)'
Approval Application to Jeollanam-do in August After Advisory Review by Urban Planning Committee
On the 3rd, Gwangyang City in Jeollanam-do held a public hearing on the '2040 Gwangyang Urban Master Plan (Draft)' at 2 p.m. in the multipurpose gymnasium (3rd floor) of Seonghwang Sports Center, attended by over 160 citizens and related experts.
The hearing proceeded with an explanation of the urban master plan (draft), followed by discussions by presenters composed of experts including Professor Noh Kyung-soo from Gwangju University, and then listening to the opinions of the attending citizens.
The presenters at the hearing suggested opinions such as ▲ the need to develop tourism resources focused on consumption ▲ the improvement of public transportation route systems and increasing transport share ▲ the establishment of development plans for township-level areas.
Citizens offered various opinions including ▲ preparing policies to attract population inflow ▲ easing various regulations for exercising property rights ▲ reorganizing public transportation routes.
The city plans to comprehensively review the opinions submitted through the public hearing, after consulting with the city council and related departments, reflect them in the '2040 Gwangyang Urban Master Plan (Draft)', seek advice from the city planning committee in June, and apply for approval from Jeollanam-do in August.
