Amid a series of gaffes and controversies, Tae Young-ho, a Supreme Council member of the People Power Party facing disciplinary judgment by the party's Ethics Committee, expressed on the 8th, "I sincerely apologize for causing burden and embarrassment to the party."
On the same day, Tae posted on his Facebook, saying, "At a time when the achievements of the President's visit to the U.S. and the Korea-Japan summit should be highlighted, I feel sorry that controversies related to me continue."

View original imageRegarding the leaked recording that sparked controversy over the presidential office's interference in candidate nominations, Tae firmly denied the allegations, stating, "I categorically deny that Lee Jin-bok, the Senior Secretary for Political Affairs, ever mentioned anything to me about candidate nominations or Supreme Council activities. I stake everything on this."
He added, "My conviction remains unchanged that our party and leadership must unite tightly to achieve victory in next year's general election," and "I will continue to do my best in whatever I can for the success of our party and the Yoon Seok-yeol administration. Once again, I sincerely apologize."
Previously, Tae was referred to the Ethics Committee along with Kim Jae-won, another Supreme Council member who caused controversy with remarks about the Jeju 4.3 Incident being a North Korean Kim Il-sung infiltration, harsh criticism of the Democratic Party, the leaked recording related to presidential office interference in nominations, and inappropriate comments related to the May 18 Gwangju Democratization Movement.

The Ethics Committee plans to summon the two Supreme Council members at 4 p.m. at the party headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, to hear their explanations and then decide on the level of disciplinary action.
