35 Organizations Including Korea Gas Technology Corporation and Visang Education Recognized as Outstanding Industry-Academic Cooperation Institutions
The Ministry of Education and the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced on the 8th that they will certify 35 institutions, including Korea Gas Technology Corporation and Visang Education, as outstanding industry-academia cooperation institutions.
The 'Outstanding Industry-Academia Cooperation Institution Certification System' is a program that selects and certifies excellent institutions among those that have accumulated performance points (mileage) through university student field training, operation of industry-academia cooperation curricula, technology transfer, and more.
Korea Gas Technology Corporation received high evaluations for operating credit-recognized curricula and an industry-academia cooperation counseling system to support employment. The 'Mobile App Development Cooperative' and Visang Education Co., Ltd. were highly praised for hiring some university interns as full-time employees. SM Group's shipping division, KLC SM Co., Ltd., was selected as an outstanding institution for conducting job training while operating a training center with Korea Maritime University.
The 35 institutions certified this time will receive financial benefits such as reduced loan interest rates and various fee discounts, as well as additional points when applying for government ministry projects. The certification is valid for two years from the date of selection.

Gu Yeon-hee, Director of Talent Policy at the Ministry of Education, explained, "We will explore ways to promote industry-academia cooperation between universities and companies by providing more benefits to institutions certified as outstanding industry-academia cooperation institutions."
