"Our Salon Customers Are Seniors"... Dongmyeong University Opens 'Munhyeon-dong Hair Salon' for Parents' Day
"Our salon only serves elderly customers."
Students and professors from Dongmyung University held a unique event called "Hair Salon" to give local seniors a "makeover" in celebration of Parents' Day.
On the 3rd, about 20 students and professors from Dongmyung University conducted the "Munhyeon-dong Hair Salon" at the Hair Design Department practice room, providing perms, haircuts, coloring, nails, and makeup services to elderly residents of Nam-gu, Busan.
Also, Dongmyung University President Jeon Ho-hwan and Nam-gu Mayor Oh Eun-taek, who attended the event, pinned carnations on the seniors and gave them nutritional supplements.

View original imageKim Mi-hyun, Dean of the College of Health and Welfare Education, said, "The Munhyeon-dong Hair Salon is the first event implemented together with the Munhyeon-dong Urban Regeneration Field Support Center as the start of community-friendly, close-knit, and convergent volunteer work ahead of the establishment of the new 'College of Beauty Arts' in the 2024 academic year."

Dongmyung University plans to establish the new "College of Beauty Arts" (Departments of Beauty Care, Hair Design, Makeup Design, and Fashion Design) in the 2024 academic year.
