Chairman Chung Eui-sun Pays Tribute at Veterans Memorial in the U.S.
Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Eui-sun and key executives from major affiliates paid tribute at the Korean War Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C. on the 26th of last month (local time), the Korea-U.S. Alliance Foundation reported. Prior to this, Hyundai Motor Group’s management accompanied President Yoon Suk-yeol as part of the economic delegation during his state visit to the United States.

Chairman Chung laid flowers at the flower offering stand in front of the sculpture representing the dedication of the war veterans. The executives who accompanied him, including Hyundai Motor President Jang Jae-hoon, President Shin Jae-won, Hyundai Motor Chief Operating Officer Jose Munoz, and Hyundai Construction President Yoon Young-joon, observed a moment of silence. The company stated, "To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Korea-U.S. alliance, we visited the Korean War Veterans Memorial, a symbol of the alliance and friendship between the two countries, to express our gratitude and respect for the noble sacrifice of the veterans."
Earlier that day, the Korea-U.S. Alliance Foundation conducted a tribute, leading to natural exchanges and conversations at the site. Attendees from the foundation included Captain Choi Won-il (retired Navy Colonel) of the Cheonan ship, and Sergeant Ha Jae-heon (retired) who was injured by a landmine. After the tribute, Chairman Chung and the executive team greeted foundation officials and expressed their gratitude to veterans such as Captain Choi and Sergeant Ha. They then toured the Wall of Remembrance located opposite the veterans’ statue.
