The targets are divided into statutory distribution projects and public interest projects that receive lottery funds, and the evaluation ratings range across five levels from Very Poor to Excellent.
In the evaluation, the Forest Welfare Institute received the highest rating in both statutory distribution projects: the 'Green Infrastructure Expansion Project' aimed at improving green space usage conditions for vulnerable groups, and the 'Forest Experience and Education Support Project' that supports experiential activities within forests.
In particular, the Institute received high evaluation scores for actively discovering new beneficiaries of lottery funds, such as creating forests in special schools, revitalizing projects through cooperation with private organizations, and gathering opinions through various communication channels, which led to tangible project outcomes.
The Lottery Fund Green Fund is operated by the Forest Service Director to protect the forest environment and enhance forest functions according to the 'Act on the Creation and Management of Forest Resources,' using proceeds from lottery sales. The Forest Welfare Institute is entrusted by the Forest Service to manage and carry out related projects.
Since 2016, the Forest Welfare Institute has supported 2.53 million people to participate in forest experience and education programs, and through the Green Infrastructure Expansion Project, it has created 274 outdoor sharing forests nationwide and improved indoor environments at 194 social welfare facilities across the country as of last year.
Additionally, by last year, it completed the installation of barrier-free sharing paths for people with disabilities and those with limited mobility at 124 locations nationwide (109.2 km).
