Damyang-gun Assigns 7 New Public Health Doctors Including Pediatric and Adolescent Specialists
On the 1st, Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it has assigned 7 new public health doctors to work in medically underserved areas such as rural and fishing villages.
The newly assigned public health doctors consist of 7 individuals (3 medical doctors, 1 dentist, 3 Korean medicine doctors), bringing the total number of public health doctors to 20 (10 medical doctors, 4 dentists, 6 Korean medicine doctors) working at health centers and health sub-centers.
The new public health doctors are primarily assigned to areas exempt from the separation of medical prescribing and dispensing, where there are no medical institutions or pharmacies.
Due to the reduction in medical doctors, three health sub-centers (▲Goseo, ▲Subuk, ▲Daedeok) plan to minimize medical service gaps by conducting mobile clinics twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays).
The newly assigned public health doctors will provide health care services such as patient treatment, vaccinations, health consultations, village primary care, and specialized mobile medical services at health centers and health sub-centers.
In particular, with the assignment of pediatric and adolescent specialists among the 7 new doctors, medical services related to infants and young children will become available, reducing the inconvenience of having to travel to nearby areas.
The county recently conducted job training for the newly assigned public health doctors on basic service regulations appropriate for national term public officials, integrity and kindness, and directions for developing health care services tailored to regional characteristics.
