Joint Operation of a Shared Booth with 11 Local Companies

Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 1st that it participated in the '2023 Seoul International Fisheries & Seafood Expo' held at COEX from the 27th to the 29th of last month to promote the excellence of Wando seafood and seafood products.

At this exhibition, 11 organizations including Wando Abalone Co., Ltd. and Wando Mom Young-eo Cooperative Corporation participated and operated a joint pavilion.

Wando-gun companies showcased abalone chowder, flatfish porridge, seaweed noodles, and rock salt seasoned gim to domestic and international buyers and consumers, receiving positive responses.

A buyer who toured the Wando-gun joint pavilion said, “I visit the exhibition every year, and seeing the upgraded booth arrangements, innovative seafood products, and the passionate promotional activities of the companies with pride in their products, I cannot help but trust and purchase Wando seafood products.”

County Governor Shin Woo-cheol stated, “We will continue to operate joint pavilions at exhibitions held domestically and internationally to support export companies in pioneering markets. We will also promote various support policies to ensure exports follow.”

Meanwhile, at the 'Korea Sustainable Aquaculture Seafood Seminar' held as a side event on the 28th of last month, the county and the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) signed a business agreement to establish a cooperative system for the sustainable and responsible development of the aquaculture industry.

The 'Seoul International Fisheries & Seafood Expo' is the largest seafood exhibition in Korea, serving as a business exchange platform where domestic and international seafood buyers, distributors, and seafood companies gather.

Since 2021, the county has participated in the exhibition annually to support local seafood export companies in pioneering domestic and international markets and to promote seafood products.
