Hyundai Motor Group's Busan Expo Video Captivates 70 Million Viewers Worldwide
Hyundai Motor Group's '2030 Busan World Expo Bid Promotion Video,' created together with Busan citizens, surpassed 70 million views within a month of its release.
Hyundai Motor Group announced on the 26th that the total views of 37 videos in two series of Busan World Expo bid promotion videos, produced to coincide with the visit of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) inspection team, exceeded 70 million views as of the 25th.
On the 26th of last month, Hyundai Motor Group released the 'Busan citizens invite you all' series (19 videos), created with Busan citizens, through the group's SNS channels. On the 5th of this month, the 'Busan is ready!' series (18 videos), featuring participation from foreigners residing in Korea, was globally launched. The total 37 video campaign consists of two global integrated videos and 35 short-form videos separately produced for individual BIE member countries.
The 'Busan citizens invite you all' videos recorded 42.12 million views, while the 'Busan is ready!' series recorded 32.47 million views. Of the total 74.59 million views, overseas views accounted for 51.77 million, representing 70% of the total views. Additionally, the 37 videos received over 112,000 likes, 10,420 comments, and about 7,000 shares.
Looking at views by region, Latin America accounted for 28.34 million views, making up 38%, followed by Europe with 23.12 million views (31%), Africa with 11.19 million views (15%), the Middle East with 5.97 million views (8%), and Asia with 4.48 million views (6%). Hyundai Motor Group analyzed that by releasing 37 videos before and after the BIE inspection team’s visit, it contributed not only to rallying domestic enthusiasm for the bid but also to promoting Korea’s strong hosting determination and Busan’s competitiveness overseas.

On the 3rd, the BIE inspection team visited the Hyundai Motor Group pavilion set up at the Gwanghwamun Square event site, which was dedicated to praying for the success of the Busan World Expo bid. At that time, the inspection team watched the 'Busan citizens invite you all' video on a large LED screen.
From the 31st of last month to the 9th of this month, Hyundai Motor Group also screened these videos at the Hyundai and Kia pavilions at the '2023 Seoul Mobility Show' held at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province. Since the 11th of this month, the videos have been broadcast on large outdoor advertisements at the Gangnam Station intersection in Seoul and on LED screens installed above 13 gates at the Seoul Central City Terminal.

The BIE inspection team, which visited Korea from the 2nd to the 7th, conducted an in-depth evaluation of the candidate country's bid capabilities and preparation levels and compiled an inspection report. The inspection report will be circulated to 171 BIE member countries and serve as basic data for the host country vote scheduled for November. Among various evaluation criteria, the national enthusiasm and support for the bid by the supporting country are known to carry significant weight.
