From Gordon Ramsay Cooking Classes to ChatGPT Lectures... LG Smart TV Becomes a Top Instructor
LG Channels Strengthen Country-Specific Preferred Content Including 120 Domestic Channels
Providing Customized Customer Experience Based on webOS
LG Electronics provides a 'personalized experience' to customers with diverse tastes by quantitatively and qualitatively expanding the content embedded in its proprietary smart TV platform, webOS.
On the 26th, LG Electronics established a TV business vision called 'Sync to You, Open to All' to enable more customers to enjoy viewing experiences tailored to their individual preferences and lifestyles. A representative example is the expansion and diversification of the free content service 'LG Channels.'
LG Channels continuously updates popular content by country, receiving positive responses. In the United States, viewers can enjoy NCAA football and basketball, while in Europe, movies and dramas from popular OTT service Rakuten TV are available for free. In Korea, popular content such as "Dolsingles," "Kodokhan Misigga," and "Simya Sikdang" can be watched a month earlier than on other free channels. About 120 free channels are available on LG Channels in Korea.

The global subscriber count for LG Channels has more than doubled in one year, from about 20 million in 25 countries at the beginning of last year to over 48 million in 29 countries currently. This is the result of strengthening both the quantity and quality of content while considering the diverse tastes of global customers.
Not only LG Channels but also webOS content that allows customers to participate, learn, and enjoy, such as education and exercise, is gaining popularity.
Recently added 'MasterClass' offers cooking and vocal lessons from famous chef Gordon Ramsay and popular singer Mariah Carey. Leadership courses by former U.S. President Bill Clinton are also available. The global lecture platform 'Udemy Curation,' which has 59 million students and over 200,000 lecture contents, provides convenient access to practical and self-development courses reflecting the latest trends such as ChatGPT, marketing, programming, business English, and composition classes.
Exercise content for the 'Home Training' crowd is also expanding. Recently added are 'Exersite,' which uses AI technology to detect exercise posture via camera and provide real-time feedback, and 'Exponential Plus,' the world's largest fitness franchise offering daily classes from experts in various exercise fields such as Pilates, yoga, and cycling.
Meanwhile, LG Electronics has also improved the usability of webOS so customers can conveniently enjoy high-quality content. The 'webOS 23' installed on smart TVs this year allows users to freely organize their preferred home screen based on individual accounts, arranging apps according to their preferences. Personalized content recommendations are also provided based on viewing history per account.
