A freight train transporting hazardous materials derailed and caught fire in the town of Rockwood, Maine, in the eastern United States.
On the 15th (local time), the Rockwood Forestry Department stated, "Three locomotives and six railcars carrying lumber and other materials derailed in a densely forested area, causing a fire and a forest fire," adding "Additional railcars transporting hazardous materials did not derail, and there is no risk of hazardous material leakage or fire."
