Chunhyang Scholarship Foundation Holds 'Scholarship Award Ceremony'... 139 Recipients Selected

On the 4th, the Chunhyang Scholarship Foundation held the 2023 Chunhyang Talent Scholarship Certificate Award Ceremony at the Namwon City Hall auditorium, the foundation announced on the 5th.

About 130 people, including foundation directors, students, and teachers, attended the scholarship award ceremony.

This year, a total of 139 scholarship recipients were selected: 56 outstanding scholars, 44 special talent scholars, 19 Boram scholars, and 20 Hope scholars.

High school outstanding freshmen received scholarships ranging from 5 million to 2 million KRW, outstanding and special talent scholars received 2 million KRW, and Boram and Hope scholars received 1 million KRW each, delivering a total of 249 million KRW in scholarships to local talents.

Choi Kyung-sik, chairman of the Chunhyang Scholarship Foundation, said, “I sincerely congratulate the students who participated in the award ceremony on being selected as scholarship recipients,” adding, “I hope you find your field, always think creatively, and develop to become the hope of the local community.”

He continued, “I ask you not to forget that there was the love and dedication of your parents and teachers until you received the scholarship.”

For the first time in the foundation’s history, the award ceremony included a communication session under the subtitle “You are the future of Namwon,” with Chairman Choi Kyung-sik (Mayor of Namwon) of the Chunhyang Scholarship Foundation.

They shared the main administrative vision of the 8th local government and education policies for youth with the students, and through questions written in advance on post-it notes, students freely asked and answered questions they were curious about with the mayor, creating a warm atmosphere filled with various discussions about education and advice as future mentors.

Meanwhile, the Chunhyang Scholarship Foundation, established in 1995, conducts the Chunhyang Talent Scholarship selection annually and has awarded a total of 10.94 billion KRW in scholarships to 2,460 scholars up to 2018.
