Donuimun Redevelopment 'Final Puzzle'... 21-Story Residential-Commercial Complex to Rise in Zone 2
Amendment to the Redevelopment Promotion Plan Approved
Seoul City is completing the final puzzle of the Donuimun redevelopment project. A residential-commercial complex building, including 227 apartments with a maximum height of 21 floors, is planned to be constructed in Donuimun 2 District, located in the vicinity of Seodaemun Station on Subway Line 5.
On the 6th, Seoul City announced that the 'Donuimun 2 District (Donuimun Redevelopment Promotion Zone, area around 28, Gyo-nam-dong, Jongno-gu) Redevelopment Promotion Plan Amendment' was approved with modifications at the 3rd Urban Redevelopment Committee held on the 4th.
According to this plan, Donuimun 2 District will feature approximately 70,000㎡ of total floor area, including 227 residential units (77 of which are public housing) in a 21-story building above ground, along with office facilities. Additionally, essential public facilities such as a hub-type Kiwoom Center and a Seoul-style Kids Cafe (about 2,300㎡) will also be secured.
With this review, the path has been cleared for the promotion of the 'Donuimun 2 District' project, following the completion of Donuimun 1 District (Gyeonghuigung Xi) and Donuimun 3 District (Donuimun D Tower). The entire 'Donuimun Redevelopment Promotion Zone' project is expected to be completed by 2028.
